Everybody always looks at me funny when I say I'm gonna meet someone on myspace. First off, I don't go alone, second, i have a registerd gun if anything crazy happens %26amp; thirdly, we meet in a mutual setting that is well lit where there are alot of people around. I don't see what the difference is from me seeing someone i like on myspace that i want to personally meet than if i see a guy i like in a club or at the mall or at the library or wherever. Why do people think your crazy when you even say i met this person on myspace or even dating websites.

Not odd or crazy at all. If you meet someone online and connect, the next logical step is to meet offline.
All those people online (including me and everyone reading this) also exist in the offline world...and there are people offline who don't go online much. Any of them could be kooky and dangerous.
If you are an adult, are using (un)common sense, meeting in a public place, not giving out your home address initially, not sharing a ride with that person to another location, etc, then I see no issue.
I've met people from the 'net for years (offline) and have had no scary/dangerous experiences. I've made some of the best friends I've ever had, had some interesting dates, and met a few people I didn't 'click' with, but that's all. There's just as much chance of me meeting someone who wishes to do me ill at any time, whether they use the internet or not.

I do think meeting people on myspace is a bad idea because you don't get to see or now these people in thier real lives. Myspace is not a dating service, I;m against those too, Myspace is a way for you to talk to people you know...in REAL life

What happened to to good old days of meeting people when out socialising, not on tinternet pages. I also find it strange that these type of sites have so called "friends" , they are not friends, they just sign up to a web page, get out more!!

i met a guy off myspace and i we talked for about a few months and we finally met but he was way shorter lol and it didnt work out how i thought it would...but id say go for it...its a place for meeting new friends lol

You never know what could happen. People may not be who they claim to be. But when you see someone at a club you know off the bat there not some 67 year old pervert.

Because the media portrays online dating as dancing with the devil. Remember the old rule with the news media, if it bleeds, it leads, and something connected with sex in any way, shape or form just adds to it.
I would be really interested to see a comparative study of which really has more trouble attached to it, dating relationship where the couples met online, vs. meeting at a bar, vs. meeting in other forms, leaving out the underage issue re myspace which wouldn't likely be applying to the bar scene (if someone is looking for a teenager, the local singles bar would obviously be a poor place to try). My guess is once comparing apples to apples, the numbers are probably not much different.

It can be good or bad. You just have to be very careful when you meet people online. Take all necessary precautions if you really feel it is someone you MUST meet. Be sure that not only you take someone with you, but that other people know where you are going. I definitely would be sure that the two of you have corresponded and/or spoken on the phone for several months before putting yourself out there. Take every precaution available to you.

no i dont think its weird!...i have met nice guys online...i dont regret it...i have actually met nice guys online than in person....but yea always gotta b carefull...meet in a place where its safe...n never go alone
